Participants of the 2024 Thought Leaders Symposium each had different takeaways from their time discussing the campus of 2030—from breaking down silos on their campuses to discussions about future technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the role they will play in facilities management.
In the video below, Lillian De Lisle Stott, senior director of organizational development for the Society for College and University Planning in Charlottesville, VA, came away from the Thought Leaders discussions seeing participants excited while envisioning the campus of 2030 and the use of technologies like AI. At the same time, she and her fellow thought leaders are aware of the challenges in getting their campuses—whether it is the campus culture, leadership, or mindset—to plan for the future while also addressing their current demands.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, Johnson Controls and Siemens, the Thought Leaders reports are free to APPA members and can be downloaded from the APPA Bookstore. The 2024 Thought Leaders Report will be published mid-August.
In the months following the symposium, video interviews from participants were posted on APPA’s newsfeed and published in the Inside APPA newsletter to provide input on the final report. Links from all 2024 Thought Leaders previews can be found on the APPA Thought Leaders Series page.
