APPA’s inaugural Spring Conference was a resounding success!
Over 350 facilities professionals from across the United States, including attendees from Canada, Australia, and South Africa, came to Nashville, Tennessee, to attend the sold-out event, held April 15–17, 2024.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the response to the conference,” said David McCabe, APPA’s director of professional development and virtual learning. “This was our first in-person international conference since COVID, and we were not completely sure what to expect. The registration numbers were beyond anything that we imagined. APPA is glad to have such engaged and dedicated members that made this event such a success.”
General sessions were held on April 16 & 17th, addressing a variety of campus-wide topics directly impacting facilities management. Topics on the first day of sessions ranged from staffing challenges—like Best Practices, as well as retaining and engaging the facilities workforce—to campus safety and infrastructure renewal. Session topics on the final day included campus security and crisis planning, facilities planning, as well as data-driven workload management.
In addition, APPA’s 2024 Spring Conference included an opening and closing session, as well as several networking opportunities with other facilities management professionals, including a networking reception on April 15th.
Slides from many of the session presentations are available here at APPA.org. Check back often to this link for updates, as more presentations are received. A photo gallery from all three days is also available at the website.
Building on the success from Nashville’s event, planning for the 2025 conference has begun. More information, such as location, dates, and registration, will be available as details are finalized.
