Peer-to-Peer Collaboration….has proven to be one of the most effective means of learning and discovery. Shared learning is the brand of our association and the core principle of our strategic planning framework. Aligned to APPA’s strategic vision of providing a future of continuous learning, we draw on our associates’ experience and understanding of the business to provide fellow professionals insights and understanding into their own organizational challenges and preparedness.
“If I had one hour to save the world, I would spend fifty-five minutes defining the problem and only five minutes finding the solution.” – Albert Einstein
A Systems Approach….Understanding that managing facilities within higher education institutions is a complex and complicated undertaking, with various integrated and interdependent facets of the facilities portfolio, our team takes a systems approach to our analyses. APPA’s peer reviews have consistently demonstrated success in uncovering organizational, structural, procedural, relationship, and/or cultural issues as root causes for particular challenges. We get to those root causes faster and deeper than those who do not possess first-hand working experience in our unique profession.
Access to a Wealth of Resources….Rebalancing funding and organizational capacity to meet evolving campus expectations will require industry scans and knowledge of best and successful practices. Having access to this wide range of resources, we are able to bring recommendations for improvements and validations for current practices and initiatives that are based on up-to-date information.
APPA’s reputation carries considerable weight, trust, and credibility in the conduct of our assessments. APPA Advisors are able to draw upon the vast network and resources of APPA, developed and supported through the collaboration of its member volunteers, to bring proprietary and effective tools and proven solutions to our efforts.
