While buildings are responsible for approximately 40% of the energy consumed in the U.S. the EPA estimates an average of 30% of the energy used in commercial facilities is wasted. Reducing this waste requires a comprehensive energy management program to meet the latest energy efficiency standards and established greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction goals.
The process of managing a facility’s energy demand and consumption requires a methodical approach involving data gathering, assessment of existing systems, identification of savings’ opportunities, and thorough analysis of these opportunities with respect to both energy and cost savings.
This 2-hour virtual training session offers a deep dive into this process along with sample scenarios and calculations including developing a facility’s energy baseline, benchmarking against comparable facilities, and evaluating sample energy saving opportunities associated with lighting, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and the addition of insulation to a building’s envelope. Calculations will show both energy and dollar savings.
