This session will increase knowledge of risks associated with waterborne pathogens and illness associated with facility engineering design, construction, and commissioning activities. Current WMPs (water management programs) tend to focus on existing buildings, however WMP teams are less familiar with the common pitfalls associated with waterborne pathogens emerging from the initial design, construction, and commissioning activities. Addressing water safety issues throughout the construction process can mitigate long-term challenges for managing building water distribution systems.
