Demonstrating their knowledge in a wide range of areas related to facilities construction, maintenance, and renewal, 38 professionals from diverse educational institutions have joined the ranks of graduates of APPA’s Leadership Academy and Institute for Facilities Management. The latest classes were recognized during APPA U, held in New Orleans from January 8 through 11, 2024.

A deep dive into educational facilities leadership, APPA’s Leadership Academy is designed to build competence, character, and leadership skills, impacting positive change across the organization. Graduates complete all four levels of instruction: individual effectiveness skills, interpersonal effectiveness skills, managerial effectiveness skills, and organizational effectiveness skills.

APPA’s Institute for Facilities Management provides various courses related to facilities management, with electives at the New Orleans Institute covering topics from in-house construction management to cybersecurity. To graduate, facilities professionals must complete courses in the four core areas of general administration; energy and utilities; building, design, and construction; and operations and maintenance.
