July 20, 2012, Alexandria VA – APPA is pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 Fellow Award: Bill Elvey (CAPPA), of the University of Texas - Dallas.
“Bill has been a leader among the APPA membership for several years,” said David Cain, APPA’s Vice President, Professional Affairs, and the chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee. “This is APPA's highest individual achievement award, recognizing his years of dedication to both the educational facilities profession and APPA as an organization. It is a privilege for APPA to work with such a dedicated professional.”
APPA Fellows must be an active member of APPA for ten years or more; complete APPA's Institute for Facilities Management; complete theAPPA Leadership Academy; completea research project under APPA's Center for Facilities Research; prepare a paper accepted for publication by APPA; and have references from colleagues in the educational facilities profession that can speak to the nominee’s success and dedication to the educational facilities profession. Fellows are recognized not only for their past accomplishments, but also for expected future involvement in research and mentoring within the field.
The award was presented by APPA 2011-12 President David Gray of Middle Tennessee State University, on Thursday, July 19, during APPA’s Awards Banquet at the APPA 2012 Annual Conference and Exposition in Denver.
