NOTE: if you complete the survey online, you will be able to access your survey through myAPPA by using your user id # and password.

APPA's Facilities Performance Indicators Survey is an annual collection and reporting of data related to educational facilities and an integrated research information database.  Developed and produced by APPA's Information and Research Committee, the Facilities Performance Indicators Survey takes a comprehensive look at facilities operating costs, staffing levels and expenses, building and space costs and usage, strategic financial measures, and much more.

New features and functions implemented this year include:

  • Leaner Survey - Unused and under-used data entries have been eliminated, making the survey shorter and quicker to complete.
  • New Tools - Popup definitions & used as definitions have been attached to data entry points to answer your FAQs as you complete the survey.
  • Entry Warning Messages 2005-06 min/max values have been attached to data entry points.  Warnings appear when entries are outside of the boundaries to help keep the data accurate and relevant.
  • Emphasis has been placed on the creation of a balanced scorecard.

The Information and Research Committee is also working on the following for the future of the survey, in order to make it the most effective and efficient tool for reporting and recieving core facilities data:

  • Creating a Tier I and Tier II indicator survey and report - Tier I of the survey will be mandatory and will answer strategic questions
  • Paring down 250 indicators to 70

Making raw data always available for in depth data mining.

The annual survey results in a set of Facilities Performance Indicators reports published on APPA's website and may be purchased online. Pricing and level of accessibility to confidential information are based on your institution's membership in APPA and your participation in the survey itself.
